I have FINALLY written up a couple teks as to how SHP has done things in the past. DISCLAIMER: This is not for the newbie to mycology, and not going to work for everyone! This is simply what works for one person when other teks and methods have failed miserably!

Dried very well with the chemical drying, tried them Friday and was quite happy. Second flush is on its way out, some are just pinning others are 1/4" out. Ill get some pics up soon.

I never leave the viel to open, If I have the chance. I have noticed slower and weaker second flush's. Yes I know its not the same for everyone.. But this is what I have seen. And it has been consistant with a few tubs, and cakes.
I also think I recall RR saying something about this as well, where the fungi is trying to reproduce (Sporeulate) its grows and trys to fruit, In the same case if sub encounters a contam that it cannot fight off, It will fruit to try to at least reproduce before the contam takes over. If you pick the fruits before the fungi gets a chance to reproduce then it trys harder a second time, third time, etc, to get the job done..
Im not saying its the only way, and Im not saying its the best way, But I like to have the best of the best, And min 1 week old mushies picked at the prime-time is the best of the best and everybody not only likes them, They absolutely LOVE them. So In my eyes, You get a thicker second, third and sometimes fourth flush and you have the best of the best.
