Is potency reflected by the darkness of the bluing when bruised? If so, to what extent usually? A little indicative or a lot? I saw these ones on the TV that bruised almost black! They were Thai from brf in a straight verm case.

I heard the darker the blue, the better. But this is from a friend. Hes no mycologist.

i think you misunderstand KuSsH, he talking about purposely bruising it and making it turn blue. Then, he wanted to know if the deepness of the blue indicated the potency of the yayo.

Since blueing is caused form the oxidation (and breakdown) of the psilocybin, I suppose that if a shroom contains more psilocybin, then there would be more oxidation and more blueing which would result in a darker hue. So, yes, it seems logical.

I dunno about black bruising :-O

Exactly, but let's say my dog was buying some shrooms and wanted to make sure that they were psilocybin shrooms and not some portabellos or something. :-D

ah! what if you are in a forest and you see a huge field of wild shrooms that look like cubensis but they might also be some wild thing that'll kill you

if it turns blue you can be sure that its psychoactive at least, are there any poisonous psychoactives btw?
