Todays Shroom Hunt in the Arboretum: Many Pictures
    #1570157 - 05/22/03 08:54 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Toiday at noon I wlaked to lake Washington Blvd and Maadison Avcenue and proceeded to take a shroom walk through the arboretum.

I saw many shrooms but the majority of them were dead or rotting.

I took many images of some i am posting here biut felt that only one of each species was enough to represent the images I took.

So lets began. The first thing I saw was a beautiful flower.

and now a shroom image.

and a closer look at the features of this shroom:

And now an interlude:

ANd now another species of shrooms, A stropharia
growing inthe shade of a pine tree.

and then there were some Duckies:

and again another interlude:

It was at that moment that I heard a roar above my head and I looked up and it was the DEA shroom Spy plane watching me from afar so I decided to call it a day.

mj

And have a shroomy day

What species are the first set of mushrooms? I've found tons of them, and have always wondered what they were.

Yeah, Ive seen those mushrooms growing everywhere there are woodchips usually. I thought they were some sort of Stropharia....

I know the first picture of the white flower is a Calalily... They are certainly beautiful.

Calalillies and Rhododendrons, not to mention some classic basidomycetes, good work there MJ. I am suprised a man of your calibur wouldnt have more interest in shouting out some botanical names of those plants and fungii, after all the whole joy of science is discovering/learning new things.
