It was about a month. But I had them at about 65 degrees F. I bumped them to 80 degrees, and it made the difference right away. I've done them at the cooler temps before, but they seemed to not want to have any of that this time. 80 is really ideal. But space was a concern, so I tried to do do them out of the heated area. It's just a bulb that's creating the heat, btw.

Here's another of yours popping up.

Germination time was less than a week for that one.
Here's another one. Haven't grown this before, so I'm not sure if it's cause for concern that the seed never pushed itself above the soil.

No, it will sprout leaves form the shoot. It may be a little stunted though. But maybe not...
What temps do you have your at? 1 week is the fastest I've heard of. But I tend to germinate them at room temperature because that's what's easiest.

It fluctuates in between 82 degrees and 64 degrees in the section of the closet I've got them in, depending on daytime or nighttime. I use a 125W CFL, and have an additional GE Reveal 100W for extra heat output and light for one sectioned off area where I grow my tropicals like those and the dragon's blood trees my girlfriend is growing from seeds I got from you a couple months ago.
The second one has indeed sprouted leaves from the shoot, almost overnight. The other seedling is still hovering over the soil, almost unchanged. I'm assuming that means there's some stuff going on underground or within the seed, but either way since I only got six seeds, I was only really counting on having one plant, so two makes me pretty happy.

Yeh 82 is a good temp. I moved them under a Reval 100 myself. Don;t give up on the other seed because you can get sprouts several weeks apart.

Here's another shot of that second seedling, four days later. It's amazing how vibrantly alive it looks in person. I can feel a good energy coming from this plant.

Thanks! The other one has finally put out a shoot and is developing its first leaves now too. And that one in the pic has grown phenomenally in only a single day. The other one I was worried about, as the seed developed mold, but luckily I caught it in time and a few hours outside the humidity tent fixed that right up.
Still not sure yet whether the bamboo stick is a good idea or not. Not sure if there's enough purchase on it for the vine to climb, and in any case it's pretty small. How long does it take before they become too woody to train?

Sorry for the delay. I didn't see this before. No, the Tunkunaca is smooth. Caupuri is knobby.
Here are some more sprouts
