Was it piss?

Well, my friend had a new jar colonising of GT, and he noticed it had light orangey colour in some parts, he had heard of piss, so he decided to try dunk it... well as soon as he put water in it (and a bit of peroxide?) he noticed the orange vanished straight away...there was no odur, just that little shroomy smell (altho he didnt want to take a whiff)
so..does it sound like piss, or should it be tossed? (note: 3 other GT jars that are colonising have a bit of it too...but it doesnt seem to be growing (the orange)

Sounds like piss (metabolic waste/by-products) to me.

is there any way to know for sure? or at least indicate which it is most likely? wouldnt the fact that the mycelium has colonated 100% indicate its not bacteria? or anything else?

99 times out of 100 your cake will not fruit if its contaminated, so it really shouldn't be a concern.
Besides, almost all contaminates of mushroom cultivation are harmless to normal healthy individuals, the main risk appears when you inhale airborne spores on a heavily contaminated project (which you should throw out before it becomes heavily contaminated!) as the inhilation of spores can cause respiratory irritation (same is true of inhaling a large amount of *any* type of spores, your mushrooms included.)
It is generally safe to eat fruits from a cake or casing that has a small bit of mold appear during fruiting, as long as the mold is not directly on the fruits themselves.

There is no such thing as piss in mushroom culture unless you pee on your project which is not recommended.
Mushroom metabolites can have an orange/yellow tint depending on substrate. They're crystal clear when exuded from the mycelium.
There is no danger in eating mushrooms from a substrate with molds. We toss out projects with molds, but it isn't to save ourselves, it's to save our future projects from growing in the same environment with billions of mold spores. If it was dangerous to consume molds, we wouldn't eat cheese or get penicillin shots would we? RR
