Rye Injector Bags Moisture? (Good UK supplier of presterilized?)
    #15687247 - 01/19/12 08:54 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

I recently ordered some pre sterilized rye grain injector bags & they have arrived with some soggy grains at the bottom of the bags, is this ok?

Ill mix all the grains up to evenly distribute the moisture, im just hoping that it's not going to effect the spawn run... i don't want to waste my spore syringes on bunk bags

Id say 10% of the grains are soggy/soft at the bottom of the 650gram bags

If anyone knows a good UK supplier of pre sterilized grain injector bags that would be great

Cheers :mushroom2:

I would E-mail the supplier and state there is a moisture problem and ask them to send a new one or what would be the best route.  You could mix it up, just do.t get the filter wet, but if the kernals aren't hot any more they probably aren't going to absorb that moisture.

Used them for years but been having issues recently, all 3 bags i received today have soggy grains & brown sludge at the bottom of the bag
Don't want to bad mouth them as they've served me well for so long & been really helpful, but bunk grain is bunk grain

:whathesaid:

"sludge at the bottom" sounds like :failboat:

It does not sound like they sent you a professional product.

Good luck,

JD
