slight delimma with poo!!

My foaf had collected some poo a while back, maybe about two weeks ago. well he put it in a trashbag and kept it out on his pattio's outside storage. He lives in an apartment and shares a pattio with a neighbor. Well, he just checked on it and it has some unwanted mycal growth as well as some light greenish specks an perhaps some cobweb. This was going to be his casing ingrediant, but now it looks bad. He is aware that he is supposed to keep it in the sun to dry, but in his situation he can't because of his neighbors. If he pasturizes it, will it still allow healthy growth? Please help if anyone can.

1. poo should not be used as a casing. I think paneolus species are the only ones
that prefer a shitty casing layer. casing layers should be non-nutritive for
most mushroom species.

2. moist shit that's sat in a closed plastic bag for a couple of weeks has
likely begun composting or, more likely, rotting. this is not the type of
substrate you want to start out with. I'd suggest ditching what you have
there and reconsidering your substrates considering your living situation.

Pan. cyan's require a casing layer according to stamets. Pan. subbs do not.

I'm not to hip on any other Pans.

I will be using steer manure compost in a bag from my local nursery soon. The texture of the compost will probably require a supplement to make the compost a bit more airy. I plan on using verm or perhaps straw. Keep your eye on the Grow log/Pic forum for details. I will start very soon.

All of the supplies I use should be found at your local nursery/garden store/grocery store.
