You're using spores I assume? This Is normal. It can take up to 7 days for visible growth.

Indeed, I inoculated 10 jars with 10 ml of spore solution though I may have got the distribution I a little uneven I'll admit. As it's coild where I live I also have the jars next to an electric heater.

4 days is nothing. Just a piece of advice, I would forget about it for a week (7days from now). Then check. I know it will be hard, but you still have a few weeks left before you need to do anything. I wouldn't worry about the distribution. It doesn't take much to get the myc started.

What are your temps? I don't know much, but my EQ jars took 2 days to spot any visible growth in temperatures of 75-80F, while they took 4-5 days in temperatures of 65-72F. May also be the spore syringe if you ordered one. I notice most vendor ordered spores take a litle longer to germinate. Really it could be a lot of reasons... all you can really do is wait it out.. that's all you're going to do anyway.

No idea what the temperature is as I don't have a thermometer and this is all being done in the bedroom. I feel hot in the room though with this electric heater and the jars are cold to touch though if that is something to go by.

Don't keep the jars near the heater. Just put them on a shelf and forget. In a week or two take a look to see how they are doing.

Because of the glass, the jars will be cold to the touch. It is really hard to judge that way. IME, with an LC (Liquid Culture) you will see growth within 2 days, but with spores it takes about 7 days. I've read some spores taking up to 3 weeks to show signs of myc. Now, there are always exceptions, but 7 days is a general rule. I try to keep the temps in my grow room 75F - 85F. You can go higher and lower but that will slow growth. If your thermostat in your house is in the specified range you will be fine.

I'd say that's the upper temp range. I'd think 68-75 to colonize and 64-74 for fruiting, for best results.

Room temp is fine. The warmer it is, the easier for contams to grow. My first run of jars didn't show any growth for 3 weeks after inoculation, but then grew just fine. In fact, they wound up more potent than I expected. Patience is key, and when in doubt just wait. I wouldn't bother with incubating at a higher temp, but that's just my paranoia of giving contams any extra help to take root. 4 days is nothing. If you have no signs of germination in 3 weeks be worried. In the meantime start another round of jars or another project to kill the time.
