This looks great, good job! My only fruiting advice is to check it often and make sure it doesnt dry out..

This is OP, lost my email and had to make a new account :frown:

I am afraid I let it dry out.  I was gone for 3 months and didn't have it watered.  I didn't think it would be a problem since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it normally is quite wet this time of year.  The only problem is it didn't rain at all while I was gone and has been pretty dry.  I have been watering it a lot lately and it still has some mushroom smell when I wet it.  It hasn't fruited yet, but I don't expect it to until it warms up a good amount.

Does anyone know what my chances are that it will survive?  How bad is it if it gets too dry?

I've found King Stroph's to be one of the hardiest species.
We let our patch go through two heat waves (40 degrees Celcius = 104 degrees F) without watering it.
Just managed to water it today and it's still happy healthy mycelium, growing well!

I found it best to mulch with straw so it's not fully exposed
