Poo block cracked in half

I Have a filter patch poo bag 85%-90% colonized by spawn. Anyways due to some miss handling the giant poo cake broke in half down the center from top to bottom. The cake seems pretty solid on the inside, im just waiting for a few outside patches to colonize. What im concerned about is when I set the bag on the shelf the two halfs of the cake kinda lean away from eachother creating a crevis between them. I was thinking of wrapping a couple strands of tape around the cake outside of the bag to help hold it together so it could possibly re connect. Or could I take the two halfs out of the bag and place them in an fc to finish conizing and fruit? Or should I just let it be?

No worries you should be fine. Id just fruit the 2 halves. That way you'll have more surface area

What species are you growing?
I find that weak cohesion of a block suggest weak colonization.
Not to worry, if you do not get a mold, then you will get fruits, and the point about surface area is true.
Good luck,

Im growing p. Cubensis....the name of the spores is virginia creepers if that helps. And the mycellium does seem kinda week, some spots appear slightly grey, i think its the color of manure showing threw thin myceliium. But I could be wrong...it doesnt look contaminated, and it smells good, just looks like weak colonization.
So you guys suggest I tansfer them into a fc for more efficient surface area? My appologies if im a bit off.

I would probably let it colonized very thoroughly and then consolidate further. This will rule out contams and will also speed up fruiting once you do introduce the block to fruiting conditions.
In any case, good luck.

I didnt mention this in the origional post, but its been colonizing very slowly for the last week and from what I usualy read it takes most people only 2 weeks for the spawn run to finish, my spawn run has been going for 3 weeks and its still not quite finished. And now that it broke in half im guessing it might go through some kind of shock?? Also a side note my home tends to drop into the 60s at night, could this be my reason for slow growth? i really want to save this cake! But I dont whats wrong with it, or if something is wrong with it of that matter. Im guessing my best luck is to just leave it alone for now huh?

It seems that there is little else that you can do.
The speed and strength of colonization suggest weak spawn.
There may be a bacterial contam involved. This can slow colonization without stopping it.
Good luck,
