humidifier on 24/7

whats the problem with keeping the humidifier on 24/7? i did it with cakes and got good results did it with maunre and got good results. so what could be the downfall? yeah little droplets r on the mycelium also.

If you dbl end case it and rub vasoline on the roof of the terrarium ( no water dripping from the ceiling) no h20 will ever stick to your cake.  Run the humidifier 24/7 and let the terrarium just drip, it has worked for me now.  :smile:

It all depends on what type of humidifier you're using and what you are humidifying (cakes, casings, etc.) With an UltraSonic Humidifier, as well as an Ultrasonic Fogger the amount of moisture created is simply too much to leave on 24/7; it will supersaturate a casing for instance with the dense mist it creates. Though, a CoolMist humidifier along with some simple output attachments can be left on all day/night without fear of over-saturation or limiting gas exchange.

the type is cool mist with a hose attatched to it and its a bed of manure about 10 feet by 12feet i use on it all the time and there r droplets on the myclem. i have always left the humidifier on from day one with cakes to u couldnt even see that cakes in the aquarium when i was doing cakes. but now i have left the humidifer on constent for a box of maunre and there were droplets on that also but if fruited great 5 dry oz out of a 2'x2' box 2 in deep not cased or anything.
