Ok so I had one of my BRF jars get some of that nasty green contam BUT I didnt throw it out because the area with the contam was smaller than a dime and to me the rwst of the cake APPEARED to be 95% healthy. Sooo I decided to try out a little experiment and kept it around (far away from my healthy jars) and tried to fruit it and I also built it its own FC out of a 2 gallon milk jug with some perlite and I have NEGLECTED it on purpose to see what would happen. No misting and no fanning or anything. Well it seemed to heal itself??? I cant find a trace of the contam spot and its started pinning with some shrooms that look like they are going to be pretty healthy and good sized. If it does indeed produce some fruits... should I eat them OR WILL I DIE!!!???

You shouldn't even risk it bro. My first jars ever had a couple get contaminated but I still kept em around just to watch the whole process. They grew and fruited pretty damn well but I still threw em out. It's not even worth it.

Why would you throw them out? People eat shrooms off manure they find outside all the time and never get sick and there are crap loads of mold and bacteria in manure. It's not like the mushrooms contain any of the toxins the mold produced (green molds are generally non-toxic anyways)

OFT
As Kizzle pointed out, green mold (most likely trichoderma) is harmless. It is on most if not all the fresh produce we consume. Black molds are the ones that can kill you, and it wouldn't be from eating it, it would be from inhaling the spores so if there is black mold your already dead, jking man jking. But you will be fine.
OAN I can't believe I am about to post this, but I had five jars contam on me first ones so far. Well I let the jars fully colonize, actually before I go any further I AM IN NO WAY RECOMMENDING WHAT I PERSONALLY DID. That being said I let the jars colonize to 100%. Only one jar still showed a spot of green. I then actually forgot about them for about two weeks when my girl reminds me that they were on the shelf still and it looked like mushrooms growing in the jars. Sure enough there were pins coming out of all five cakes everywhere, I didn't dunk them I just placed in my SGFC and misted heavily along with pouring a little water on them. These cakes are as of right now flushing nicer than most of the 60 some previous cakes I have done. I harvested two cakes yesterday, got 30.2 grams wet off one and 36 off the other. They are showing no signs of contaminates either. Like I said I do not recommend this to anyone, cause I can see the rebuttals coming (and if someone else posted this I would probably do the same to them).

Examine the mushrooms themselves. If they look/smell ok, chances are they are fine to eat. Especially considering you can't even find contams on the substrate.

A FOAF has fruited mushrooms off of contaminated substrate and eaten them with no ill effects...more than once.
But if you are worried/unsure, as with any mushroom, dont eat it.
Love.
