 Best Birdseed TEK

Hey guys. I have this kid who lives some what near me but not really, and he just successfully germinated some spores using of course the newbish and very effective PF TEK. That kid who i don't know very well is wondering, what is the best bridseed tek to use, it sounds like that is the next best substrate to try. I am planning on using Lipa Yai Cubs mostly, and some equadorian if that helps you guys.

so this kid that lives some what near me but not really is really you? (i hate when i do that!) 
well, the best birdseed tek, is mixing 1/3 cup water, 2/3 cup wild birdseed (i just use a mix of a bunch of different seeds...) put it in the pc or boiling pot (read about fractional sterilization in the faq) you should stick a piece of polyfill in the lid, after you cut out a hole (read about that at sporeworks.com) actually, sporeworks.com has a really good tek about using birdseed as a substrate. check it out.

alright alright. that'll teach me to not review my post before i post it. Usually i look for those kind of errors but i'm a little tired after doing some drinking this weekend. That kid who i don't really know very well at all will go check out those faqs. You guys ever heard of just using penningtons birdseed and adding that into the original PF Tek? That sounded very easy, and the faq said that it made the cakes colonize twice as fast... It was a TEK by shroomologist.

I don't know about the best. But THIS WBS TEK works & is toilet flush simple to follow.

don't worry about fuxxing with water
and seed ratios.
presoak for 36-48 hours, rinsing and
chaning the water a couple times.
drain WELL
load into jars 2/3's full and pc at 15 for 60-90
minutes.
that's the best birdseed tek with the least
amount of words.

Nice. I thought you had to add a bunch of stuff to it and everything. I'll pass on that info to the kid who i am kind of aquaintances with but not too well. He'll give some results back. Thanks for the info 6t.

I too am trying to take a step up from PFtek, cept I'm going with popcorn, differances, similarities with popcorn and birdseed, is either better, or are both fine?

Oh schweet i'm a journeyman now. =). To answer your question Sko, i've never grown with popcorn, but i've heard that it works pretty well. No one ever talks about it on shroomery boards though, at least not much and that makes me think that it isn't one of the better TEK's. Usually the people on here are pretty well informed. I think WBS is the next logical step.

Hey. That kid i don't really know too well just made some stuff using that "toilet flush easy" tek. I noticed that some of the jars have really wet looking grain in them, and some are only kind of wet...are the wet ones too wet? That kid needs to get his digicam up so you guys can see.

i think it was tango6's tek, a friend just started like 5 days ago and at first was skeptical... the first batch came out alright, not too much water... creeper strand was used and it just started to germinate... second batch was probably soggy, it had weird stuff on the bottom... i thaught i could have burned it because the cooker ran out of water about 50min in to PCing so another quart was made... it was equador and so far there is nothing hapening with it...

Afoaf is using the popcorn tek and is very impressed with how fast it grows very easy to make also if ya have a pc you dont have to do all that soaking
