Small tweeks to PF-Tek = very Aggressive colonization !

I am of average intelligence,so I've come to terms with the fact that when I have what seems like a great idea, chances are someone else has already thought of it. Wondering if any of you fine gents have?
The Process:
Conventional PF-Tek with a little artistic license. Standard 1:2:1 total volume divided among the jars.
WATER = Distilled water , 1 cup, + 1ml Fox Farms Big Bloom (0.01-0.3-0.7)
VERM = Sta-Green verm, 2 cups
FOOD = 3/4 cup BRF + 1/4 cup Quaker Enriched White Hominy Grits *
**** I searched all over the forum about using grits in PF-cakes and could only find a thread about how poor people eat nasty food (paraphrased) Anyone have an educated idea about this stuff feel free to share. Again, I have a hard time believing that I'd be the first with a good idea.
JARS: twelve 1/2 pints, dry verm on top, blah blah blah. Five 3/8th "large air holes drilled into the lids, 4 covered w Micro-pore, center covered with a sterile circular band-aid. Used a 3" 18g veterinary needle to inoculate, strictly from the center hole...)
Heated it all up in my handy Countertop AMSCO-M steam sterilizer, 200 degrees @ 25 psi for 1 hour. (Before you start saying about how that's overkill and you did just fine with a PC from Wal-Mart, let me explain, my Grandpap was a veterinarian and I inherited all kinds of dated but functional lab equipment when he retired.)
Syringes: Made from individual spore print on a sterile pyrex glass disk. So easy to scrape, almost no waste, no clue why people are using foil or even paper. Spores then broken up with Ultrasonic metal cleaner for 2 minutes, hydrated for 18 hours.
INCUBATION: TiT w aquarium heater. Bottom tub wrapped in fiberglass insulation, top with blankets. Meat Thermometer in lid says it's about 81.1 degrees in there, so to me that means it's at least 83 inside the jars.
I wrote up a log to keep track of their growth/contam every 5 days, I knocked them up on xmas day and I checked them today because I'm nosey:
***RESULTS @ 4 days***
Penny- and quarter sized Rhizo patches in 6 of the 12 jars, white white fuzzies average 1/4" diameter in all the others!!! No signs of contam unless the white fuzzies are Cobs...
(pics soon I promise)
So, has anyone tried this or something similar? Let me know your experience if you have, thanks!

Everyone has their own recipe.
I don't know anyone except a timid first time grower who uses just water and BRF. Thanks for sharing though, but this is not a remarkable discovery. In the end all that matters is the quality and quantity of your yield anyways, so unless those turn out to be extraordinary don't be insulted if nobody raises an eyebrow to things like this.

I'm curious, how would the big bloom liquid thing work? I looked it up and it seems to have everything a plant needs but nothing fungi need. Except maybe for the nitrogen compounds.

Two things.
Don't use distilled water.
Don't use chemical fertilizer for plants. They will do no good. Mushrooms eat solid food and are not plants. RR

You think bottled, or tap is better?

I don't think the water makes much of a difference. I always use tap.
And don't use plant fertilizer on mushrooms. Mushrooms are not plants.

***UPDATE***
Thanks for the feedback all, now for the latest news... I can say that it didn't work out so well!
The cakes sat in my tub+tub at about 83 F for 25 days and colonized seemingly very well. 2 jars were contammed from noc'ing and were thrown away with no small amount of heartbreak.
After the customary victory lap of 7 more days in the chamber, (not because I'm patient but because my FC wasn't finished yet) I dunked and cased them in the traditional PF way....
3 days pass... a week... a few scattered pins here and there. Only 1 cake is actually fruiting. (Very nice looking fat little fruits but 1 cake? )
SO...at the 10 day mark I picked the most sad looking cake and decided the needs of the many outweigh those of the few and cut it in half to see wtf was going on inside. (dry? Contam? Not fully colonized? ) AND GUESS WHAT...
...the Hominy Grits that I was caroling about were right there, swollen up with the water they stole from the rest of the substrate, and undigested, shiny and same color as the kind I cook for myself sometimes.
IF the Plant fertilizer , which yes I did pick for it's guano and high nitrogen content, had any effect one way or the other, I couldn't recognize it. I'm glad I kept the concentration super low, at least. I'm not convinced that it's bad though, more on that misconception as I tinker more.
Conclusion= Grits were a Taker. They drank the water , and logically crowded out the nutrients of the BRF. Don't bother with them in your PF cakes.
All I can do now is just keep the rest of the little white pucks in the FC until they fruit or rot, while my next batch of conventionally filled jars colonize.
Just thought I'd share!

Just use tap. If you have a clean, local stream or something, that's best.
The reason you don't use distilled water is that it is stripped of all the essential minerals and nutrients. I saw a member use distilled water in his mono once. All of his shrooms came out limp as a wet noodle.

Aren't grits made from Hominey? And isn't that a type of corn? I know there are teks to use popcorn kernals, I would imagine it should work with just about any type of corn. Strange that it did not.
On a side note about the water, I have no way to really prove it one way or another, but I notice I generally get mad flushes if I dunk the cakes in Spring Water for 24 hours versus regular tap water. I generally use Ozarka brand, but I am sure if it is 100% natural spring water, it would work. I just do not trust all the extra chlorine, flouride and what ever else they put in our "safe" drinking water.
