The first mushroom is some kind of Agaricus. Hard to tell exactly which.

they are definately agaricus mushrooms, i have found plenty of these here in tampa bay in a 200 meter radius of my house. i have tried identifying them twice yet i could never come up with something close as far as i can remember. they seem very common. btw i suggest buying the book "Common Mushroom of Florida" by James Kimbrough available only from university of florida press. very good book with a lot of species not available in field guides for north america. i dont remember the order number there though, search for it. ISBN: 0-916287-30-0

now that i think of it, this species may be AGARICUS ALACHUANUS? edibility unkown. i dont feel like looking at description now, im too worn out from final exams, but ill post it for you:

pileus: 3.0-4.0 cm diameter, convex and slightly depressed, placomycetoid (slim stature with a proportinatelythin pileus), buff with purplish scales, becoming tan with brown scales when dry.
gills: lamellae are free and deep chocolate-brown with age
Stripe: up to 4.0 cm long with bulbous base
Spores: chocolate-brown deposit
HAB: very common during rainy summer months beneath evergreen oaks ion lawns and open woods

^^^^^from "Common Mushrooms of Florida" ^^^^^^^ sick book

Your first mushroom, as everybody else has said, is an Agaricus. To identify them to species we need more info. Cut the mushroom in half vertically and scrape the inside (all of it) with your knife edge, then watch for bruising reactions. They can be different at different locations in the mushroom, and it can take up to an hour for any color changes to occur. Also, sniff the mushroom and tell us what it smells like. In particular, try sniffing at the base of the stem and where the stem joins the cap. If there is no obvious smell, try crushing the base of the stem with your fingers ans sniffing again.

The second ones, as you guessed, are inky caps (Coprinus). Those look pretty similar to Coprinus disseminatus.

Happy mushrooming!

Those look similar to Boletus affinis. Did the flesh or tubes bruise blue when bruised?

The red one is a Russla for sure. There are a lot of red Russlas, though. I'm not really sure how to determine species, but I bet ToxicMan could help out on this one.

As Gumby said, that red one is a Russula. Except for a few distinctive species, they're impossible to identify to species without a microscope. Just to give a wild guess, how about Russula krombholtzii, which is the right color, has close to white spores (some Russulas have yellowish to almost orangish spores), and grows under oak.

The "colorful" ones don't look as colorful in the photo. I can't see a lot of detail in that photo, so I'm only wildly guessing at all on it. Maybe Tricholomopsis platyphylla, which isn't a very colorful species, but does resemble the photo. Without seeing more detail on the stem, a strong possibility is some species of Amanita, many of which are colorful and look somewhat like that. Another possibility is Pluteus cervinus, which also looks like the photo, but it would have a pink spore print. This is a mushroom where spore print would be very important.

Happy mushrooming!

the bottom bolete on your first post:

it is not B. rubellus because of the adnate gills and darker cap color; and rubellus has yellow pilleus, why the hell did i even consider it

how about Boletus underwoodii? eh? Xerocomus hypoxanthus?

since all you gave is pictures all I can give you is guesses. search for pics and description of these species online.

I looked over several species of Rusulla trying to id the images when i realized that his images resemble dot-matrix images from someones book or magazine article.

Here are some blown ups showing the dot matrix pattrerns of magazine or book printings.

Not from someones forest photos.

Am I wrong in thinking so. Do these imaes not resemble a magaine image scanned?

Click to enlarge please as you can see bettrer when enlarging the images. I have no way to post a large picture and do not know how.

and here is the other one. Maybe they all are?

Fast Butt

Here to try and help

if i had taken them in SQ they could have been down loaded succesfully.
The pics were 500 KB when only 100 is shroomery size, long story??
This one was next to the pool pump????

And these came out of another oak stump, look like chantrells but not yellow enough?
