rehydrating WBS jars that are colonizing...
    #1559133 - 05/19/03 12:01 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

so these dry wbs cakes that ive had for 2 weeks have begun colonizing... and shit did it come out of nowhere. one day there is nothing and the next day there are huge patches of mycelia on the side. although some continue to sit there doing nothing but im expecting them to start up. i know they are going slow because they dried up very quickly and im sure rehydrating them will boost the growth. so my question is... if i inject water into the cakes with mycelia growth and shake them up will that damage the mycelia much? i know after regular shaking the mycelia will take time to "regenerate" itself and heal, but will water cause do more damage than good? and also how many cc's of water for pint and half pint jars should i use?

They probably just look dry, my millet(WBS) looks dry but it is actually wet. Just wait it out i beleive.

But if you really want to. Take 1 Jar and try it and see if it affects anything. Try the experiment urself . It's fun!
