re-inoculation question

On thursday morning AFOAF inoculated 6 jars with 1 syringe of Lipa Yai, pretty evenly distributed among the jars. The jars have had constant 70-80 degree warmth, and show no signs of colonization. Should he inoculate them with his second syringe of Lipa Yai, as he's been urged to do, or should he wait a few more days?

Some of my jars didnt colonize until the 12th, and they were inoculated on the 1st

yes wait, and try to keep temp closer to 80 than 70 , found 82 to be ideal formy friend

Wait a little longer, and keep them at 80-85 degrees. You can re-inoculate, I have done so. However, I later found out that it was not necessary.

IMHO, knocking up the same jar, after days and/or weeks have past. Is like throwing good money down a bad hole. Why do that? Prep fhresh jars & knock those up. Old jars have a higher chance of a contam. Sort of like using the same rubber -- twice..... :smirk: -- not a good idead :grin:.

If I were you, I would wait & see what the existing jars do. You could also prep some more & knock those up too, if you have the urge. Oh ya.......... 70 to 80 F is not constant. That is a 10 degree fluctuation (6T counts on his fingers). 82 to 84 F contstant will do you better.
