Yeah I think many do. I am usually not afraid, but when I think real deep about it I get a little scared. I don't even have a reason, I just want to be alive.

I say that I'm not afraid of death, but if it really came down to a life and death situation I'd probably be pretty scared.

Yeah I usually am not afraid of death, but when I think about it for a long time I will get afraid. Most the time I don't worry about it, but it still comes up every once in a while.

there is nothing to be afraid of you'll still go on living in your dream, in your reality, but you'll be a whole lot younger to boot, just to age and die again.. you'll never really know which life you left off at, but sometimes there will be clues.. You're probably in the highest part of ascension now, if you dabble in psychedelics you'll only get closer and closer to the truth that has no answer..

QFT Yeah same here, I'm not afraid of death I'm just more afraid of not living. But that is death pretty much, but I'm not afraid of dying itself. And everyone else, thanks for the responses! Orison, that's good that you have those thoughts. That's what I think the biggest reason for religion is, to not fear death. It's a major flaw the human race has. We think too much and about stuff that is so unimportant it gets in the way of our lives.

I'm definitely afraid of death. I don't go to extremes to keep myself from dying, but the thought of my girl and family having to deal with my death at such a young age for the rest of their lives eats me up inside.
However, I think with family and loved one's feelings aside, I wouldn't have this fear.

there is no such thing as death. we do not really die, our physical bodies are no longer needed for US. the true beings we are are not these meat lockers. ive had too many OBE's to really deny it even if i wanted to.

im really not up for being walking one day having a grand old time then having this strange feeling overcome me as i fall flat on my face crushing my skull off the pavement then rotting for a bit before some kids on a hike find this disgusting blue frothing pile of what use to be me. most people dont realize that more often than not they're gonna be in for a very messy disgusting death that may include smashing your face off something as you wonder wtf is happening or to have your kids find you blue on the floor with your tounge hanging out and shit smell coming from your pants but oh well

For a time I wasn't, but an acquaintance was just murdered and thinking about his last moments has reminded me how frightening the prospect of death is. I don't think there is any afterlife. Just ending, it scares me. I know I won't care because I won't exist, but still.

Death is not to be feared, but not knowing how or when one will die can be very scary on its own.
its like going to a casino and putting a 100 million on the table to play one hand, but your cards can be dealt anytime from now until forever and while you wait you gata pay bills. Who knows when your hand will be dealt or if you will get to play again. Would you even want to play again after the first game?

Trying not to think about death will only make it worse. Why avoid something that is reality? If you lived forever, you would fear being trapped on this boring earth for eternity. You can only get so much out of life, then at some point, you will want to move on. Might not seem like it, But the possibility that you can die at any moment, is what makes life a miracle. People who are just living day to day, without ever thinking about death, will be hit with a horrifying surprise one day. While those who know, will be gifted with a pleasant escape. We are not the body, and we are not the mind. If you think that you are actually the body, You will not know what to do once you shed it.

I'm usually very afraid of dying, but during 3rd and 4th plateau DXM trips I easily accept the idea of death. Not so much due to losing my sense of self and not caring about my life, but more out of seeing how amazingly beautiful and mystifying the universe is, and knowing that just being a part of the it is more meaningful than anything else that I or anyone can do in life. Atheistic spiritualism at it's finest

Can't wait to die, so I can finally get some good sleep.
--------------------
Anything I post is purely theoretical, and not based in reality. All pictures are from google. A big part of me has died inside and I don't know if it will ever come back. Nothing makes me happy anymore. I use drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, and my sense of humor to hide the rest. I don't share these feelings with anyone in real life.

That was one of the odd things I always wondered about that was revealed to me. Or at least, so I believed at the time and still am inclined to. You existed infinitely into the past and will also into the future.

Sorry I spelled ceased wrong, but yeah I don't fear death right now. It really changes a lot. Usually I don't fear it but sometimes I think a lot and find myself in a mind loop and scare myself. I think the experience of life is just worth living for. I live for the next generations that will have their ups and downs, and for them to question themselves. I am part of a beautiful cycle, life is beautiful.

Just substitute Death for Home in this dialog...pretty funny part of the movie...Tom Hanks is awesome.
Viktor Navorski: Is home. I am not afraid from my home.
[pause]
Viktor Navorski: So?
Frank Dixon: [whispering] All right.
Viktor Navorski: I go to New York City now?
Frank Dixon: No.
Viktor Navorski: No? Uh... Okay. I'm uh... I'm uh... I'm afraid from ghosts.
Frank Dixon: Okay, thanks very much!
Viktor Navorski: I'm afraid from, uh... Dracula!
Frank Dixon: Thanks a lot. Thanks, Viktor!
Viktor Navorski: [as he is escorted outside] Afraid from Wolfmens, afraid from sharks!
Frank Dixon: It's okay. Thank you Viktor! Thanks a lot!
