these are all from southern california. this is the first one. tis quite evil looking, it had a long skinny white stem and the cap was ebony black, very tar like and rotted away.

this one was medium sized, very fluffy and spongelike. cap was white with brown splotches, the stem was white and thick, its gills were pinkish.

these were my favorite looking, because they looked the most non-toxic. the stems were, well, stemy, white with brown undertones. the caps were a light brown almost gold/grayish on camera and small, the gills were a pale brown as well.
i know there probably sub of the more common sothern california species but im new at this and im trying to identify all the different shapes/sizes certain speices grow around here.. if anyone can properly id them, i would tb most greatful. if you guessing, please let me know
thanks,
mger

First one is something Coprinoid, it's impossible to tell which species exactly in that state. Second is most likely Agaricus. Last one I'd call an Entoloma, but am not sure.
Unfortunatelly, you can never tell a mushrooms toxicity based on it's appearance. Some of the most poisonous mushrooms look very beautifull and non-threatening. And some look very similar to non-poisonous species. And most that look really vile are not toxic at all. So judging mushrooms by their looks could prove fatal, you must familiarize yourself with species you are looking for, and the poisonous ones for your area.

No, if it was Agaricus it would have much darker gills at this advanced stage of maturity.
It is Entoloma or Pluteus or Volvopluteus.
The last one could be Clitocybe or some other white spored genus, post better pictures before and after picking.
