Ok there is a painting that's similar to this piet mondrian painting, (also is this art style abstract or cubism or a mix?) its basically the same thing except the painting im looking for is not all rectangle's and square's it has a triangle in it and I think circles (not sure about the circles) but its one of the more popular paintings of this style of art heres the example of piet mondrians paitning.
so if you know what painting im talking about (it has different shapes in like stated above) please link. i wont be replying on here for a while as im leaving for a bike ride. thanks.

I think I know what you mean, but my art knowledge is limited and can't find it! you mean curved lines with some parts of the painting colored like the mondriaan one right?

Theo van Doesburg, Mondrian's De Stijl confederate, introduced the diagonal into the brand of abstraction Mondrian pioneered (a move which lead to their "break-up"). For an example of a van Doesburg with discrete shapes (rather than a grid), google his "Cow."
However, I tend to think you're describing one of Kandinsky's hard-edge paintings, if what you're thinking of is indeed well-known.
The triangle you mention also makes me think of a certain Frank Stella shaped canvas.
Another possibility would be one of Malevich's suprematist canvases, although I don't think he used many triangles.
Mondrian's painting is not cubism -- at least not in anything but the most generic sense of the term. His work is certainly a type of abstraction. But keep in mind that abstraction, as such, is not a movement -- it's a more general formal tendency that can be observed through 20th century art.
Hope this helps.

The work you're thinking of is absolutely "Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge" by El Lissitzky.
I can't believe it took me that long to think of it.
Appropriately enough, the work was originally a poster, a work of propaganda encouraging the communist (red) quashing of counter-revolutionary (white) forces.
