Honey Tek with Spores?

Right now my friend says she is pc'ing a 1/2 pint honey jar, ready to be inoculated later today. She was wondering if she could just scrape maz. spores into it, or if she would have to continue using the eq strain ie. cloning?

Yea, scrape the spores in...all being well you should end up with a nice mycelial soup after a while..either that or a jar full of mold :tongue:

Just spray the air with some air disenfectant, clean your hands, wear a facemask. Be quick and you should be cool, dont let the lid be off for too long. Its really a gamble that I wouldnt take when you do stuff like this, better to get a syringe. Or perhaps build a little glove box.

Personally I think the honey tek sucks, but to each his own. I think honey harbors extra contaminants that need to be dealt with first. BTW, the oven tek doesnt work, it has been proven ineffective here on the shroomery by one of the most respected members.

Well, she's successfully transfered mycelium into honey jars without a problem in the past, so she didnt think spores would pose a problem, although she could use a syringe, she doesnt really see the difference.
Ive seen Anno's pics proving the oven tek doesnt work, but some people swear it does, and it certainly hasnt caused the girl any grief.
