is there a reason why my xbox 360 when i put disc 2 in won't download the ' high-res pack ' ? its from a previous owner, although that really shouldnt matter right? or do i need to buy that?

what do you mean you dont know? like i put disc one in, downloaded the updates it told me to blahblah. played some live. then went online, an read on disc one there is a hi res pack for texture that downloads when you put disc 1 in. an nothing downlaoded

Yeah, I have no clue man. The pack is free and you download it somewhere in the UI. WHy can't you just fcuking google this instead of posting a thread?

no i installed it an i still dont see a difference. for example looking straight at the grass it looks OK. then from the side its completely flat. -.-
does the hi res pack work for live also or just the campaign?

Did you even run it prior to installing it, as a control? All a texture pack does is replace textures. Grass wouldn't be the most apparent improvement.

yeah nothing looks that special, and im using a samsung smart tv on game mode with a hdmi cable. i mean wouldn't I really notice a HUGE differnce? what about the rocky hills or the trees they look flat ish

I repeat: Did you even see it without installing it to the hard-drive to have a control?
Battlefield 3 runs in 1280x720 (vs 1920x1080 = "HD") on video game consoles, pudding along at a maximum of 30fps. That's likely not even the native resolution of your display. Like I said, you should probably read some books.
I doubt you would see a change without a high enough resolution to really represent it in the first place anyway.
"Samsung smart tv in game mode" are not specifications, by the way.

yeah i played it before i installed the 2nd disc.
and alright obviously these numbers are mere numbers to me, should i go to my dashboard and change my settings for the quality?

if not what else do i do, you seem very knowledgable about this topic so please keep informing me on this
i have a 55 inch samsung led smart tv.
with hdmi cable, game mode. no input lag, dont get me wrong its good quality, but not good enough to be the talk of all video game graphics for game consoles, which is why i still believe something is wrong. i tried reading my tv manual and such

No, it's because all video game consoles are currently woefully outdated. You would be equally hosed with a PS3. If you don't even know what resolutions are, you probably should not be worrying about texture quality.

i know what resolution means obviously, but getting to my favorable resolution, synchronizing this game with the hi res pack,my xbox360 must be missing something. but your not actually helping me, instead your just explaining some side stuff and then criticizing. so ill just end it right here

Anyway, I played it on 360, it doesn't really look tooo much better than bad company 2. Chances are you have the hi res pack and it's just not wowing you  Sorry mate.
