Innoculation time.
    #1550542 - 05/15/03 11:26 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Hey, I know this kid who innoculated his first 6 jars about three days ago. He used Lipa Yai syringes from The Hawks Eye, and has them at around 75f. I am just wondering how long he should expect to wait. It sucks when your a newbie and you are waiting for your jars to colonize =\.

Yeah, thats like.... 40$ worth of syringes if you don't have mushrooms growing to make your own. That kid i know doesn't have actual shrooms yet

Some time... its been 5 days now and my friend can see a tiny bit of mycelium, he also started his incubator up so that is helping definetly.

Well, at 75 deg. it will probably take 3-4 weeks. You might want to up the temp. or your going to have a hard time getting them to pin.

I innoculated my first jars five days ago, and I just started seeing the mycelium start to form. Be patient...if you did all the steps right, you shouldn't have any problems.

Well, you just have to wait. It will be hard and you won't take it easy and just wait no matter what anyone says, until after the first time. But seriously, it will take a couple weeks and I would expect longer unless you can get the jars in some sort of incubator. They need to be warmer. Read the FAQs on basic cultivation, then reread them. They work wonders. If you can take a couple weeks and soak all that info in, you will be knowledgeable enough to cultivate with confidence, even more so when encountering problems.

Hehe. I have read most of them numerous times, and i lurk and post on the boards alot. I am already assimilating a wide range of knowledge. I am a firm believer in researching what you do adequately, and then more so. My friend used the 1 part BRF 1 part water 2 parts verm cake method. I can actually see a little bit of growth on them about two days after i stuck them in the incubator, apparently Lipa Yai are a very agressive colonizer. I'll keep you guys posted on the growth.
