You could try PDY broth -- PDA without the agar.
Need to be a bit more careful with that than dextrose (corn syrup) water, though.

People usually use it to inhibit bacteria/actinomycetes. I've never heard it used to bring O2 -- gas exchange usually means getting rid of waste gasses, too, not adding an oxidizer.

h2o2 is unnecessary (doesn't do shit for "gas exchange" and if your contamed h2o2 ain't gonna fix it) as is the filter hole. i vote this unadvanced, where's the damn notify mod button NOW?

nothing expensive needed. a few corrections. don't use "any-size canning jar" if your gonna be making syringes. use 1/2 or quarter pints or something similar so the needle gets down in there w/o having to turn the jar over. forget the filtered hole as it is unnecessary. water:sugar = 96%:4%. Check your nutrition facts on whatever nutrient you use. You'll wanna put 4g of sugars per ~100ml (1/4pint) water. put a couple marbles in the jar before sterilizing. incubate at 80-84 degrees. shake every 24 hours. by the 3rd day you should have bigass clouds of mycelium and a single 1/2pint filled halway up (100ml) will easily fill 15 syringes given the syringes have sterilie water in them and you shoot the water into the LC and fill it back up. the silicone port works but is unreliable if you plan on making a bunch of syringes from one batch. it is worth the 5 bucks to buy a pack of septa ports. the filtered hole and the peroxide should be unnecessary because you shouldn't be making LC for long term storage.. altho i have kept jars of it for over 45 days even occasionally making a few syringes from it and it kept fine (refridgeration after incubation is K3Y). expensive? hardly. all that is needed is a jar, a lid, a port, a syringe, some spores or LC, some honey, some water, a small PC. sorry to come off rough but if your gonna stick soemthing in this forum you need to cover all the bases.

I hardly think making or even attempting to make mycelium syringes is "noobish". He posted what he did with the picture because he was proud of his results. His technique, you may not agree with but it obviously worked for him...he was just sharing...damn. I honestly don't think anyone would call that noobish. Advanced? Maybe not. Intermediate, probably.... but Beginner?? NO
You didn't come off rough you came off like a prick.
People like you, make others not want to share or even think of offering any information.
