Right on man! Nope they will be fine. Just dunk those babies for 24 hours, roll in dry verm and throw them in a SGFC.

Here's LeopardMan's write up on water absorption & dunk times: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13330611#13330611
Notice, that you should dunk cakes for 24 hours. Why not just do it now & take them out tomorrow night?

After I dunk them, I roll in verm and shake off the excess. Does it matter which side I put up?

Yea they are fine. Once they become fully colonized and consolidated its almost impossible to contaminate bfr cakes unless you really try. If done right you will have many flushes. And you will end up throwing the cakes away (or you could eat them, not me though) not because of contaments but because mushrooms have used up all vital material. Not sure where you live, but after 3 or more flushes I would take all cakes and spawn to a bulk substrate of horse manure and verm outside.(I would layer it so substrate ends up on top of course.) If conditions all right you could get a couple of flushes a year for a few years without doing anything more.

The pins in your jars may abort from the bruising they'll take from knocking them out of jars and rolling in vermiculite. I ran into this myself and read lots of various opinions from trusted cultivators (thankyou search)
So I'd really suggest trying a specified search and making up your mind off the results you find in addition to your thread.
Questions: Have your cakes reached full colonization around the whole jar? How much time have they had to consolidate? These are good questions to ask before making your decision.

Yeah they were colonized all the way around for about a week. I hope to get a few flushes! That would be sweet. I live on Florida so I think I will put the cakes outside. Good idea!

Things are goin great! I got 10 grams dries out of the first flush and dunked them for about 18 hours 2 days ago. Hopefully I get at least another 5 to 7. I am gonna taste about 2gs tomorrow and see how it goes at about 8am. How long should I expect the effects to be felt? I have stuff I have to do at like 3 of 4 o'clock. If I remember right, it won't last that long, right?
