You Are A Divine Being - McKenna 2

I believe that your divinity can spill out your eyes in certain states of body and mind.
There must be a critical error in evaluating an individual in terms of how the species is progressing (or not progressing). ie. chronic large-scale conflict, famine, disease meaning that we are worthless as our predicament. Perhaps this only shows the hardness of God's manifestations. God would not appear on a planet as a cute little puppy that goes around licking trees and defacating love hearts, or something, but rather God is a force, an intelligent, creative force that slaps beings together in divine ecosystems. "The hardness of nature is the hardness of God."
Following my out-of-body experiences I have come to realise that we truly are a manifestation of a divine energy. This does not make us central, it merely makes us part of a cosmic power. Matter and energy are not insignificant. We are made of that significance.
OBEs, coupled with lucid dreams, have shown me that the mind is a magical thing. Truly magical. Magic is best described as anything existing outside reason that still makes sense. The mind can slap absolutely magical things together, things that are impossible if reality is objective and the brain is a computer. In my humble opinion, mankind's theories are primitive.
It's amazing to think that, just as the Greeks put coins on the eyes of their dead to pay the man that would ferry the dead's soul into paradise, we still primitively fear death and say the body is some organic mess fighting in a world of organic messes in order to stay alive.
Isn't this just an obvious manifestation of death anxiety? To make a theory that involes we MUST SURVIVE?!
It's just a principle that primitive ideas can induce fear. We're still living in one: I think death is a primitive idea. Objective reality is a primitive idea. We are NOT living computers. None of it makes ANY sense...
What we are is probably beyond our comprehension. Why we take this form is a mystery to me. But what's important is that we realise THIS MANIFESTATION IS IMPORTANT, IT MATTERS. Sure, you can get ripped to pieces by machinegun fire over practically nothing but lines on a map, but there is nothing to say that THIS IS A MONSTEROUS WASTE, an INSIDIOUS INSULT to your DIVINE PRESENCE.
I think we are beings of incredible power, awe, wonder. All of us.
Our concepts of ourselves and of life are due for a major overhaul...

This is how I see it.

I have trouble with these type of statements. Just because I have a lucid dream. (had one this week) does not mean magic is happening anymore than a turd is magical. Better to say imagination is "magical". I don't think anyone of merit says the brain is computer. It does have similarities however. Your theories are mankind's theories and so primitive also. Subject to being incorrect.
My opinion on death anxiety is based on the idea that this is all there is. This is good for survival of the organism but that doesn't make it correct. Once you realize you are going to die the best course is to come to acceptance of it.

Somehow, my whole town was mapped out in a lucid dream. That's not possible since my brain cannot compute all that information in real-time. I figure there is some kind of best-said "magical" connection between mind and the rest of it.
OBEs though, are a whole other story... I mean Jesus H. Speaking of realms of unimaginable light and power...
It just sort of struck me though that all our hard-labored ideas are possibly really primitive. When you glance through some science, it's really, really linear and boring. It doesn't take much to understand it. The universe is far more complicated than that, and yet I at least seem to base so much emotion on these ideas...

Likely an inaccurate map that you believed in. I fly in lucids which happened in my last one. I felt like I was flying too.
It just sort of struck me though that all our hard-labored ideas are possibly really primitive.
Of course, reality is beyond anything we can fully imagine and why we will always likely be playing catch up.

Not sure if I agree with McKenna and his lavish praise of entheogens. I've never experienced anything he said will happen to you while under the effect of one.
On the other hand, most genuinely spiritual people will tell you that all the knowledge of the universe is already within oneself and no external object or substance is ever required to access it.

Great video. It's a shame so many people believe their own undivinity.

Well maybe it's just your terminology.

I am so far behind I can't even see the main group of riders. I may just have to stop and take a rest. Watch a little tube.

The center of the mandala, indeed.
McKenna described entheogenic experiences spot on, in my own experiences.

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing it and your thoughts!
I couldn't agree more with this statement:
Quote:
Following my out-of-body experiences I have come to realise that we truly are a manifestation of a divine energy. This does not make us central, it merely makes us part of a cosmic power. Matter and energy are not insignificant. We are made of that significance.
Good writing.

This too. I feel like I've accepted this long ago that I'll never understand everything, but my ego has a different story and goal in mind.
