Pressure cooker rack..is it needed?

I just bought a pressure cooker, and there wasn't a rack...is it needed?...if so then what can i use as a replacement?

thanks for the reply...i just went down to the kitchen and got a cake pan...inverted it and put a bunch of holes...seems to work fine!

If jars set in water in a PC, they tend to sludge up & clump grains in the bottom of the jars :mad:.

Far better with a rack or trivot, to keep them out of the water.

Makes for being a happy camper.

Instead of a grumpy one.......... :grin:

You can always use a washcloth or anything for that matter, but yeah, make sure there isn't too much water (and don't let the water run out -- this is even worse!)

Cake pan should work, too -- just keep it off the bottom.

And what size?
