So having out been out of jail for a few months and and expecting my firtst child on the way I have composited my first thought and ideas intoone formality:
Open a sandwich/ coffee shop.
wadda think? with enough replys I will give out FULL DETAILS and a menu

Nothing like a good sandwich. I like to build them.
Serve wraps too for the hippy types. Ther're suckers for the wraps.
And you could have local acts come in and perform. There's a coffee shop around here that has live music every other night and it brings in a shitload of people.

I love to cook. I love to cook for people. Though I have no formal training that can be acredited to me as far as the title of 'CHEF' from a school and what-not, I am a great cook.
I am not one of those one-pan-meal jerks ( you know who you are!); I have much experience in restaurants and at home...I know my shit, Sherlock.
Anyway, as the story goes, I would like to open my own SMALL restaurant/Cafe/ Bistro/ coffeehouse. Where I would (mainly) serve sandwiches and coffee and other things...but mainly sandwiches. And not your regular run-of the-mill- type either. The bread would be FUCKING huge!
I hear that it takes a lot; then I hear that it doesn't take anything besides loaction and then I hear that it takes $$$$$$$$$$$...either way this dream of mine will come true!
I work at a greasy-spoon restaurant and I canot stand it. It is a very unhealthy place to eat and the selection of food is basic and non-chalant. You could find any or all of the items on any diner's menu. It sucks there. I want to open this restaurant of mine to kill their business because I hate them.
I have a few names in the works for the Cafe/coffeehouse/bistro/ restaurant of mine...but tings are in limbo now as I gather my thoughts for my business plan.
Has anyone here owned theri own business?
All I know is that oncemy dream gets off the ground, IF YOU MENTION YOU ARE A SHROOMER- FREE FOOD! Whatever to get you into my place and enjoy the food. I think I would also like to have computer connections and maybe weekend music??

I was just thinking of sandwiches and BAM! I went to this guy today.He owns this redemption center and I know him. I went to mentio this idea to him about making sandwiches and wanting to sell them in the store of his, but when I got there he had some already made in the cooler.
I asked when he got these.
He said: today.

The biggest problem i see is starting your own place is the initial investment. Get a good plan goin before you put this in the works.
I love panera bread/ schlotskies type sandwich places. You need some brocolli and cheese soup too .

Anyone got any good menu planner URLs?
LIke there would be more things like QUESADILIAs and BURRITOs; and salad I think?
I thank Memm, she spoke of this plaza in the near area where one could shop; and there was a 24 laundromat and a movie place and there is even a liquor store where the plaza resides. What if I could be open at these crazy hours? and I whos cater to the local nite life around here...there is nothing to do in ***ervi*L*.The town practally closes down at 8 or 9.
And there happens to be a couple of places there where i could open up...

So what you you like my restaurant's menu to carry?
I have this list of ingredients:
MEATS:
Chicken, tuna, turkey, tofu, tempf, ham, roast beef, egg
VEGGIES:
Lettuce, carrots, sprouts, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, red peppers, olives, cucumber...
CHEESE:
American (white & yellow), mozzerella, cheedar, feta, gouda?
BREAD:
White, wheat, pita, wrap, rye...
I will also serve soups and have chilli, quesadillas and burritos too. And of course you could order a salad. I intend on having a weekly entree special, that will always be different.
Any feed back from you stoners:) would he helpful.

Meunster is a great sandwich cheese. You need a gimmick to go with the restaurant. Maybe you can serve specially blended drinks or something.

Have protein shakes and stuff like that if your tarket market is the health food type. Green Teas and all that kinda healthy alternative type stuff. I know of a great place around here that is decently located to a huge gym, they make a killing on protein shakes.Think about that if you're near a gym, if you are and they already do that kind of stuff really well then you know not to do it.
