How fast is it growing. If its cobweb, the whole jar will be grey in a matter of days.

cobweb is a very disheartening thing. my two pit bulls and rottweiler threw out their first experiment last week (on my birthday of all days, it was sad to see their work goto waste). they hope the same thing doesn't happen to you, but you will see it's a pretty obvious difference in color and growth. they thought they had some amazing supernaturally fast growth, but when the light alleged myc didn't fill in like they hoped, they discovered it was actually cobweb. if it is cobweb mold don't let it discourage you, try and try again.

cobweb is a nasty gray growth right? Never seen it inside a jar but it sure loves to attack casings

Do yourself a favor and give those jars some privacy. the less you check them the happier they'll be and you do really want the little guys to be happy.

If you let em sit for 3 weeks from date of innoc. without checking you'll find they almost always colonize completely often with zero contams.

they sometimes finish in just 2 weeks but if you give them a little more time you'll get better results. Best results seem to be from cakes that are not birthed until the black dots appear on the sides

lost one cake for about 6 weeks found it all invitro birthed it and got over 8 grams dry from just the one cake w/out dunking.

now i digress love this hobby

Does it look like that? If so you should be fine.
