Beautiful! Do you need a special lens to capture shots of the moon?

Thanks guys! Actually, all you need to take pictures of the moon like that is a digital camera and a cheap telescope. I spent about two hours last night out on my balcony with my telescope and camera trying to capture the moon. In all honesty, it was a bitch, I had to keep moving the telescope because, of course, the moon doesn't stay in one place forever and I don't have a tripod for my camera, so it was hard to get the right angle from the lens into the telescope without my hands shaking all over the place. There were dozens of failed attempts, I only had about 10 successful pictures. With the lightning, I basically just kept the shutter open for longer periods of time until I caught one. I was only brave enough to take a few of those though. I don't particularly like standing out in the middle of a lightning storm!

Did you see that that clear picture of the moon has an aura around it?

I don't care for the first few too much, but the others kick ass.

Its a Sony Cybershot 3.2 megapixel, DSC-P32. There is a similar model that has optical zoom too, its only about 100 more dollars than this model.

I hope to, I have to work until 10 central time that night and the estimated time of the eclipse is around 10:15 or so here. I'm going to try like hell to make it home in time.
