Old spore prints good for syringes?

Can you use the spores in say the free trade ring to make syringes out of or do the prints have to be fresh?

Yeah, if they're sterile. The spores really only randomly germinate under water or something -- not just dry, and they can last for years if stored ok. If you have a problem with sterility, though, you could always just germinate them on water agar (you have to add a clearly visible streak) and then transfer to nutrient agar from the perimiter of the growth. I've never had anything go bad by doing this and I make very unsterile sporeprints (I'm lazy.)

BTW:

I just transferred some mycelium from water agar that was sitting for a month or two -- still viable! WTF? This suprised me.
