Cheers for the advice guys.
I think I'll start with a little honey LC from my syringe and then do the GLC Tek if i am successful with my spawn from that in the future.
How much honey do you recommend to put in a 1/2 jar egodeathflux ? I know you say 4-6% would that be around a table spoon?
Cant bloody wait to get started on this

I use the light honey in a squeezy bottle, makes things really easy. I also think less is more, you only need a little drop.
i usually just eyeball it but depends on size of your jar. I'd say a teaspoon full would be plenty, but a tablespoon probably would be fine too :P
regarding my previous post about reishi cultures... the spawn from ebay struggled hard to recover. The culture from the-mush-room .co.uk has performed really well so far. I would highly recommend the latter.

As in a 1/2 pint? I put around 8-9grams of honey per 1/2 litre(500ml)of water. Tap water is fine but I think bottled is better, no chlorine etc.
I realise weighing honey is tricky and messy, I just put an empty jug on my digi scale, tare it then add my honey, then remove from scale and add boiling water as required.
But yeah I think a teaspoon per 400-500ml should be fine.
Edit: Also agree with Chronic on the squeezy issue, its the way forward.

Thanks again!
I know this is not really a cultivation thread but I was wondering if you could help me a bit more
I've been reading thread after thread tek after tek and seem to be over complicating things in my head and reading so much conflicting information is kinda got me to a stand still and cant make up my mind the way to go...
This is what I had In mind the other route I wanted to go down -
I have a 13psi PC that im going to sterilize my WBS in pint jars for around 70 mins? I have all the stuff to make the lids - gonna go down the Tyvek filter and silicon self healing inoculation hole I think
Inoculate with my spore syringe (2 cc per pint jar? ) and save some to make a LC with honey.
When it comes to colonizing these jars I am a little concerned as my flat is not optimum temperature and dont want to give ££££ to British Gas this year to heat the flat constantly so was thinking of a TiT to keep a constant temp for the jars at about 22-25c I'm guessing condensation will not be an issue at this point? or should i leave the lid off the tub? My flat temp seems to vary from 16-19c at the moment.
I was then thinking about making a casings up with coir and verm as it looks pretty easy and cheap. Mix up and put in trays with spawn
When it come to a FC my concerns come back to the temperature should I just stick with a shot gun FC with perlite? will it be warm enough? I have patience but dont really wanting to be waiting any longer than I have to...
If anybody could suggest anything that would be similer to what I had in my head that might be more effective please point me in the rite direction
Like I mentioned my main concerns are temperature at the moment.
Any help would be wicked Cheers

THIS MAY HELP
UK Growers Guide
Introduction When I first started it was like a maze of names and phrases I had never heard of before in my life. When the veil breaks, inoculation, fruiting, pins, vermiculite, mycelium, perlite were all words I never associated with tripping. I stumbled on mushroom spores and kits while looking at other substances available on line and I was hooked straight away. I never new much then but decided to take a chance and send for a kit containing 10 plastic 250ml containers, syringe and substrate. When it arrived I was like a kid with a new toy, I quickly got everything together and before I new it the first spots of mycelium were showing after a week and within another 2 weeks I had my first flush. Then the learning process really started because everything I needed to start was in the well-equipped kit, so I decided to try and find everything I needed to be self-sufficient.
Definitions And Sources
Canning The art of getting jam and fruit into jars is massive in America but practically unheard of here in the UK and as some equipment associated with canning is used in growing mushrooms, canning jars I had a hard job finding the best equipment for the job in hand. I had the 10 jars I received with my kit, they are good plastic jars and I still use them but there only good for semi sterilization, boiling jars in a pot not a pressure cooker and as I never had a pressure cooker at this time it was plastic containers I was looking for.
Jars (glass and plastic) After a lot of searching I found that Asda supermarkets sells good plastic Tupperware containers with good tapered lids and their 250ml about 40p each. Some of the lids were looser than others but when making your jars up put a layer of foil over the container before you put the lid on, this helps make the tighter.
If you have a pressure cooker and your looking for glass jars you can forget about finding any canning jars in the UK , we don’t sell them because as I said earlier we aint into canning the way they are in the USA but alternatives can be found.
Bonne Maman jam is available in a lot of Tesco supermarkets and these make ideal glass containers for using for your pressure cooker also in Tesco Princes Finest Continental Pate make just as good jars, both are dearer than the plastic containers but are sound investments for the p\c user.
Vermiculite Used in the gentle art of cake making, used in gardening and available in any BnQ, Homebase and most garden centers.
Perlite Used for humidity and available at BnQ, Homebase and most garden centers.
Terrarium or Fruiting Chamber BnQ again do a wide range of plastic containers is all shapes and sizes. Pick a dark one and make sure you get a clear lid, this saves you cutting the lid later to let light in. They do a 40litre one that holds about 15 cakes they also have ones that have wheels about 75 litre both are good and have good fitting lids.
Brown Rice or Brown Rice Flour Well I have never been able to find BRF I just go for the brown rice and then put it in the coffee blender to make it into flour, try to get organic brown rice.
Temp Gauge, Humidity Gauge Both available in BnQ Homebase and all garden centers.
Spores and Spore Syringes The tricky part, who do you trust your money to? Well I started with a kit but don’t recommend them because you can make you kit yourself cheaper.
I will give the sites I have bought off and have had no problems:
www.smartbotanics.com are a well established site who deal in good quality spores, kits and equipment and if your not happy you get a refund.
www.ralphstersspores.com is a top spore supplier run by Ralphster a well established member of the online mushroom community.
These are only two. There is many to choose from but I had no problem with these two sites.
Desiccant Used for drying mushrooms, this can be found again at BnQ and Homebase at the plumbing section, Kilrock refill for moisture traps.
Conclusion Well there aint much else you need to set your self up except a little skill and a little luck and once you get started you can take your own prints and trade them , so good luck and happy tripping.

Don't worry too much about the temp of your jars Hawk, they will colonise just fine at room temps even in winter. You can always wrap the jars in something cozy to insulate them. Myc gives off a little heat when it colonises so internal temps once colonisation takes off will be a little higher.
Growth maybe a little slower but there is no need for temps in the 70s at all, 50c+ is viable. LCs will sit in the fridge for months/years at far lower temps and survive, so at worst you will stall them. Room temp is fine, don't overcomplicate.
PC for 90 mins if I were you, most times given are for a 15psi cooker, better to be safe than sorry = less work in the long run.
Everything else sounds great, make a GB or STAB (why have I never seen that acronym before..?) and you're are almost assured success.
SGFC is the easiest to begin with, master that then move onto monos etc.

MRCA have never done me wrong and I've never heard a bad thing about them, but please keep us all in the loop if you go ahead with it! I'm sooo keen too but I'll have to save it for the year.
Just a point, The last tread was an incredible resource for all UK shroom heads and I don't mind doing my bit and bring the links across. Would it possible to divide the thread up and make light work of it?

MRCA sent me great Pan. varieties, only vendor I've used, good service and decent prices on the bulk deals. Been a couple of years since I paid for spores but they used to be great.

Great to hear base! I'll collect all the links from this thread first then make a move on a section of the old thread.
Can anyone help me out with needles?? I just bought a 100ml syringe and thinking a nice long 16 gauge needle would be perfect for large LC's, cheers in advance
