I just had a quick question regarding orange (orange trees) and grapefruit (grapefruit tree) mulch. Do any magic mushrooms grow on these types of mulch or is it just a waste of time to go out after some rain and search for shrooms in 9 acres of mulch? It should rain in a few days so I hope to find something, last time it rained a coprinus popped up through some soil covered in mulch. But can I get anything better or is it a waste of time? Help me out.
9 acres! get out there and have a hunt, try in autumn/fall. You're sure to find somthing interesting, maybee somthing no one has ever seen? I doubt many people have experience searching such a specific substrate but our local woodloving psilocybe Ps. Aeruginosa (probably a cyanencens relative) has adapted very well to living under kiwifruit vines, so anything is possible. Good Luck.
