how much does patching effect yeilds, cos i have a casing fruiting now that i did not patch, and just was wondering if i probly should have

From what i've gathered, patching causes a more even flush.

Yes.

Adding a casing layer and patching it will increase yeilds due to a more even pinset. It really isnt that important unless you have really stubborn casing layers that have mycelium poking through in only a few places. If left to fruit like that you may only get a few mushrooms popping up in those spots. Its really up to you and you kind of acquire an eye for it. Basically you want to see mycelium peeking through evenly over the surface.

I dont really know if total yeild is affected but your yeild from flush to flush will be increased by means of more mushrooms.
