The awareness of your fear of failure is half your battle. You have had experiences in life that have created this emotional obstacle. One of the things I have done as a hypnotist, is to remove the embedded source of such obstacles. Instead of acquiescing to the symptoms of an emotional problem, find someone to help you identify and remove it! It is poor advice to shun education at any time in history, but as technologically dependent as the post-modern world is today, it would be foolhardy and self-destructive to avoid college in the 21st century. Invest in 2-3 sessions with someone who has experience in removing these kinds of obstacles.  www.natboard.com.

but as technologically dependent as the post-modern world is today, it would be foolhardy and self-destructive to avoid college in the 21st century.

As all those graduates with worthless degrees and possibly life long debts will attest.

The problem as I see it is going from high school right into more school without tasting some world experience first.

I never got a degree and yet was able to retire  much younger than you.  What's up with that?

That may be the problem. I took a couple years off before I started school to "find myself" and cultivate my ideals, and during this time  I had insights as to what I wanted to do with my life. Having this goal in mind really helps with long term commitment, and gives you a sort of thirst for knowledge that makes school much less of a grind.

IMO going to school simply for the sake of going to school is a recipe for failure or a poor education. I suggest taking some time to yourself, figure out what's important to you, and return whenever you feel you're ready. There's really no rush, despite what people may tell you.

Start exercising, or running slowly and pump yourself.

You may try slowly then pick up, just do not run for whole life in a day or exercise for a month in a day, go steady and make yourself strong.

It may help you very much

You have to change your habits.  Your current bad habit is probably procrastinating, if I had to guess.

Just stop procrastinating and do your shit.  Not hard.

I never got a degree and yet was able to retire  much younger than you.  What's up with that?

You're biding your time in anticipation of a wind-fall inheritance. Free-falling is fine when you've got a golden parachute.

Actually, I don't want to retire yet. I've developed my craft, and I don't take shit from anyone. So, if they tried to pull me from 25 years of experience as a specialist of adolescent behavior, and attempt to turn me into a middle school teacher, I would walk. BTW, OUR generation is the last one in which one could do OK w/o a college education. My mother would yell: "So what do you want to become, a ditch digga?!" I wouldn't mind being trained on Caterpillar® or John Deere® equipment, mind you, but a pick and shovel I don't have the lower back for. Had I decided to work for my dad, we would've gotten killed by The Home Depot anyway, and I'd have had to work for them probably. My path has made sense, even if it was not my 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd choice.
