drip shield

i have my hole grow chamber all set up with a big ass rubbermaid container the only problem is the drip shield i dont know where to get it so i was wondering if there was anything else that might be found around the house i could use and if not where might i might obtain some plexiglass

How are you going to humidify the chamber? IMHO, In most instances, you don't need a drip sheild.

Someone should really update the terarriums sections on the pf and mmgg teks. Their humidification setups are kind of antiquated and I think a lot of newbies don't find out about perlite until some time later because of it. Somebody should make an addendum 'cause these teks are recomended all the time.

just one question how much perlite do you guys think i should buy and what kind of stores sell it my rubbermaid container is about two and a half feet lond and like a foot wide so how much should i need o and i hear that perlite provides humidity (duh) but do i still have to spray my chamber and if i do wouldnt the water droplets fuck up the mycelial network which is the reason for the drip shield

o how am i humidifying it i have a vicks humidifier but i dont know how to set that up and it wont fit into the container and still leave enough room for the cakes, so i plan on just using the cave man (joke) method of the spray bottle

Don't spray it with a garden hose.  :grin:

The key is to use a light, fine mist.

AFOAF told me to just spray the perlite occaisionally....

about 2" of perlite and 1/2" of water... i spray in the final fanning of the night to simulate dew built up over night...

other than that spraying is useless add more water to your perlite if your humidity isnt at the 95% level...
