In a previous life I went to home depot and walmart and NONE of the employees knew what a dessicant is.
"Just anything that removes moisture from the air..."
"Sorry sir, we dont have anything like that."
So I used table salt. that was ok of me right?

Damp Rid and Dri-Rite are usually found usually in the paint department, or sometimes with cleaners or home "utility" things, since they can be used to take the dampness out of a closet, etc. Damp Rid comes in a container that looks like a milk carton, and the Damp-Rid itself is granules.

Usually if they have ramp-rid containers you can find a carton of the stuff that is huge and reasonably priced.

whatever you do man DONT use your idea of salt, that will not work, I am serious man just go to every hardware store, i usually can't find the shit at department stores, but i am positive that is you go to home depot or lowes you will find it, you may have to find it yourself because maybe employees don't know shit about dessicants. But don't skip out on the drying process by using some half assed plan, just find the shit man, it is around. Remember, instead of saying dessicant, say dri-rite or damprid, i have had luck with that, hope this helps. peace.

Until you find your dessicant, it could be better for your shrooms to let them dry at open air on a wood stuff. Because in an air-tightbox, they could rotten.
It sure depends on the moisture in the air in your region, but I do it everytime before dessicate them in the dryer. For me it's for sure better.

Jesus... use the search feature.... Get Ice Melt, its on fucking sale now. The same shit (lower price), your average employee at Wally World has NO fucking idea what the hell desiccant is. So they get a smug look on their face, and reply with "no". Fuck them, smile back and ask for Ice Melt.......

It does, and I?ll tell you why: >Jesus... use the search feature....
That?s why, among other reasons. If you don?t use the correct spelling, then the search won?t lead to the results you want. And if everybody uses its own spelling, then the search feature will become completely useless. So why not use the CORRECT SPELLING?

Man... we're told to say that... where i work anyway, if someone asks for a product you don't know its far easier to just say "No. Sorry we don't stock that." than it is to actualy get off yr arse and look for it... I on the other would rather ditch whatever i am doing and search the whole store just to get away from whatever i'm doing.... its fuked innit?
