imagine > no really, check it out
    #1532007 - 05/08/03 06:52 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

I remember hearing a McKenna audio where he said something about non-local something or other. They never could explain how one particle could have an effect on another one way far away. One physicist said something like "all particals that have been intimately related with another partical share bits of info from eachother." Now since most people believe in the big bang this would mean that all particals know about all other particals. You have atoms in your body that are, imho, infinately old.

Now think of what imagination is; the ability to pull ideas or concepts from nowhere. Now think, are they really coming from nowhere?

Consider the 100th monkey theory; they taught a monkey on some island how to wash his sweet potato before he ate it, this monkey taught a few others, and they others. Eventually around 100 monkeys did this with there taters. Then on a completely different island some monkeys started washen there taters

Also consider a study done by a few sceintists (if you've seen waking life you know this part) where they gave a bunch of groups of people some crossword puzzles and recorded the times it took to do them and averaged the groups. Then they gave old crossword puzzles to completely new test groups and they found that these new groups did the old ones some 20% faster than the last group.

Make of it what you will.

it also makes me wonder how me and my friends can be almost always thinking about the exact same subject. i dont talk to josh for a few minutes and i come back. im thinking about this girl at my work having sex we will call her H. and then i look at josh and hes like " did i tell you about B over at H's house?". i look at him and i say "dude i was just thinking about that". this happens all the time. we are very good friends, and we share bonds im still not fully aware of. maybe we share a commonality or a wavelength within our subconcious. and when we are together we carry simillar thoughts. i have no doubt that the very things i think about and encounter in my life have an effect on our small community.

Its not "amazing" or so OUT THERE to me imo that these things happen or that they are true. but granted i do think they are very real. and it just takes a little thought to see how it works together. if newtons law is correct "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" tham i would say these relationships most definately exist. if all particles can do that, that would necessitate an order. a reaction, and thus particles would "communicate". right? Is that what you guys were thinking?!?!?!

The blue tit was the first bird to peck the metal foil top off milk bottles to get a drink. This scam was first recorded in Southampton in 1921 and by some twenty years later every blue tit was at it.

This behaviour did not gradually emanate or spread out from Southampton but arose suddenly and independantly in random places all over the British Isles. Those who study blue tits can't account for this. It can't be explained by tits passing on the information to other tits - they dislike travelling.

True story.

Blue tits? Or Blue-footed boobies?

Blue tits are mostly resident birds, but some of them migrate, and sometimes resident populations move to another location. It only takes a few moving birds to explain the spreading of new behaviour by non-supernatural mechanisms.

And the truth behind the monkey story is revealed here.

Yes, the neurons in our brains are directly connected to the evolutionary process, that is why they know what they know. I think that is what is responable for synchronicities and other phenomena.

So there was no way other monkies could have known how?

Maybe they just learned how to by themselves and then the rest cought on, I mean it's not like it was a hard mental puzzle to accomplish. Each group of monkies could figure it out I'm sure.

It's like one person is given a complex problem to solve and another person on the other side of the world is given the same problem. They both could accomplish the problem by themselves, right? That's not telepathy.

This is a very interesting topic...Murex your thought on the problem solving makes sense along with possible mass consciousness. The only thing that we need to change is the problem being solved and the organism solving the problem. In this case the human race and the problem of "how should we act, why are we here etc. Of course this has been a long debated problem but like everything in the uni-verse perspective is everything and everything/nothing/anything can be looked at from infinitely simplistic to infinitely complex in this way we have figured out that things are made up of atoms and molecules. We are finally putting the peices together as a people and as more and more understand the "ultimate truths" of course others will follow. Think about how people believed that the earth was flat for thousands of years. It took a brave, creative person to state that it was round and he was considered insane for it...now who do you know that still thinks the earth is flat. This can be said for basically all new ideas...especially ones that cannot be proven outright like the atomic makeup of everything. there are millions of examples evolution, electricity, light the list goes on and on and as we evolve as a people, as an earth and even as a universe, we are finally able to grasp what is and always has been right in front of us. These "truths" are not very hard to solve and it takes but an open mind and the ability to change your consciosness just a bit. Of all people you who consume the mushroom know of its abilities... connect what you see on this tool of learning with everything else...its not as unreal or hallucinatory as one might think.

Peace
