If it's between a man and a woman and sex is involved at all it's hormonal. If not it's like, like because you can see yourself, your best qualities mirrored in another. That's not real love imo. But it's very nice indeed. Nothing wrong with liking things and the more the better imo.

Tell me, what is love? Or do you not know it either? How can you say you don't love anything?

i think what i would consider love is unified with the experience of bliss, and it doesn't really have an object of love, it's more like a non-dual love of love itself - and it radiates to anything/anyone you experience with a kind of "i appreciate the fact you exist" vibe to it, regardless of the qualities of the things
tho it seems rare for this to come about, at least in its intense form. there's also a subtler more peace-vibe love thing that just accepts whatever is as it is and will spontaneously nurture whatever needs nurturing without consideration
romantic love is a lot of chemicals going crazy imo - and also a lot of attachment which is not something i'm interested in anymore, seems a little nauseating to me, not that i judge/dislike people who indulge in it, but the attachment seems so constricting and suffocating to me...
love, like God, is a very ill-defined thing tho i think. people mean many different things with it.

Love is the unconditional and selfless acceptance of something within or outside of ourselves

Your situation here and what you've made of it. How you act and make decisions. Your thoughts.
Damn, I don't really know. I want to say, God in the flesh apart from the whole, but damn... that won't do.
My mind hurts trying to figure this out.

If you mean by self, this ^ then no I don't love myself.
There is no way to know what the self is so don't hurt your brain trying to figure it out.

I'm shocked you don't love yourself.
What do you love, nothing, really? I'm starting to wonder if we can love here in the physical.
Besides death, you can't say you love death.

I could give a shit that you're shocked. I just spent, wasted, several posts explaining to you that I don't believe love exists and it seemed to go right over your head.

It did go over my head, I am retarded, I am also sorry. Keeping up with my memory is something I'm working on, please forgive me, I'll reread the entire thread before I post next time. I'll admit, I smoked too much pot a while back and am still not back to full memory, but that's neither here nor there.
New question, maybe, can you unconditionally love?
Or did you give up on me?
I heard a song once that had the lyrics "you have to love yourself before you can love someone else". I thought it was a nice song.

can you unconditionally love?
No, as I've already stated animals are not built for it by evolution. We use it as a benchmark for behavior however and so it can have some use in culture.
Sorry to hear about your brain not working well. Life's a bitch. Could be all for the best in the long run.

Unconditional love, in the pure sense of the words, doesn't exist on this planet. All love is conditional. Unconditional love even is a contradiction in itself. I even doubt that it exists at all

pyrate999 said: We are born enlightened and ask no questions, because we just accept.
As we age, we are taught to think and we learn to question. It helps us understand how to navigate this physical world.
Some people take this questioning too far, these are people who fall out of enlightenment. They question so much and do actually learn a thing or two about the "why"s they ask, but never get the full answer they seek. They find out there's a solution to their problem called Enlightenment. They ask and ask and even ask some more for this magical solution, but they can never figure out it is attained.
After they become exhausted of questions, they give up.
They become Enlightened.
Now I was wondering, is learning to over-question and over-think the only reason one searches for enlightenment?
I never thought about enlightenment until I thought I needed a solution. It seems so silly.
Brilliant! You just made up a scenario to prove your imaginarry, irrational point. You now attained the title of fluffus supreme.

some seek an end to suffering that is everywhere in life. some seek answers to the unanswerable some seek clarity or knowledge of a thing that is certainly there yet cannot be put in words. some seek what others claim exists. some seek the unknowable. some seek to know themselves. what is enlightenment?
