First try at wbs...is it okay?
    #1539005 - 05/11/03 12:38 PM (20 years, 9 months ago)

My pit bull is getting ready to knock up some jars in a couple of days and he figured that he's going to sterilize the jars a few days beforehand just to make sure there are no contams growing.  Well he figured that he would try doing some wbs as well as brf/verm.  Anyway my pit bull decided that 6T's wbs tek would be the best, however my pit bull only has access to a very small and old pc (it only holds one quart jar, and thats if the jar is on its side) anyway he just pulled the jar out the wbs is partially stuck to the side that was touching the pc rack and it also looks a tad mushy.  No extra water got in the jar.  Is this normal?  Should hejust wait till the jar cools?  Should heeven bother trying to knock this jar up?  It's no hurry the patient pit bull is waiting a couple more days to inoc., but he is totally new, especially with wbs so he could use the guiding voice of experience to help plan his next move. :smirk:

If it clumped, sounds like the bottom of the jar was in water and/or touching the sides, in the PC, as you state.

The seed inside should not look mushy. That is an odd one. You may not have drained the seed long enough (meaning excess water in the jars). I think I would trash can that one & try another. You want the seed, so it will shake, after PC'ing.

Sorry it didnt go well. The small PC may be part of the reason. But, it should have worked, regardless of the size PC. What size jar was it?

This is about how they should look, after being PC'ed.
