Lately I’ve refrained from making DMT trip reports, partly because they’re so personal and unique, and partly because they tend to incite people who are more intrepid (too intrepid?) to attempt to replicate the effects I describe. Clearly, this is not possible, because everyone’s chemistry is different, so, with that caveat in mind, I feel compelled to relate today’s experience.
I should note straight off, that I have not had the desire nor opportunity to vaporize DMT or take any other inebriant in nearly a month. Approximately 15mg of freshly made DMT freebase was placed in a Vapor Genie. Following several minutes of relaxation of pre-flight jitters, this, along with whatever residue may have been present in the well-used VG were taken in one long, slow deep inhalation. I STRONGLY suspect that if one were to judge the dose too light, maximal effect can be attained by exhaling through the NOSE instead of the mouth, increasing the surface area of mucous membrane contact and absorption. But I digress:
Owing to the efficiencies of my modified Vapor Genie, I began to feel the familiar onset before I could even lay back on the bed. I lay flat and held the hit until I felt the strong need to breathe, and observed the thick grey exhalation cloud from my recumbent position. Eyes now closed, the last open-eye sights fragmented , pixellated, and re-formed into a colorful, three dimensional vortex which occupied my entire visual field as if my eyes were wide open.
The vortex wound and veered giving the sensation of riding a snow sled head-first down an enclosed water park chute covered in hyper-colorful, morphing jewels. Left, right, down, up - repeated over and over, the ride continued for four minutes, with no two instants giving the same appearance.
As with a roller coaster one has previously ridden many times, I could sense the end of the ride approaching. The colors became less vibrant, morphed less, and gradually faded. My bare feet seemed yards away along an abnormally stretched and elongated torso when I opened my eyes. During the entire episode I was fully aware of my attempts at slow, deep breathing, which sounded abnormally loud and reverberated echo-chamber style with each inhalation. My folded hands gave the sensation of my entwined fingers being a foot long, a very familiar and oft-repeated experience for me. Still markedly under the influence, I consoled myself with the knowledge that I WOULD be feeling normal again, and almost simultaneously, felt remorse over the too-soon ending of this gorgeous experience.
I mentally said “thank you” repeatedly as the experience came to a slow conclusion, and consensual reality gradually replaced the DMT head space. Thank you, indeed.
