I've read and heard adamant depostitions for both sides, but I'd really like to hesr the voice of experience or scientific knowlege. Fact or Fiction. You can brew cakes, casings, or mycelium into a tea and trip. My friend only has 0.2 dry grams of aborts and wants to trip. there are old cakes and a casing lying around tho.... Pleaze repond soon. As always thanks for the knowlege.

Vulture - just practice using the Search more... tweak the options and such. Amongst many other threads, the first one I clicked on presented me with this:
Quote:
Tek: Crumble 2-3 cakes per dose...Fully colonized. Add FRESH cranberry juice to a mason Jar, add crumbeled cakes. Crush up 2-3 Vit.C tablets, and add them... Replace lid to jar and shake/let sit/shake/ let sit for about 2 hours... Then strain through a cheese cloth and drink!
Set the Search settings to All Forums for cranberry And cakes. Use any date range, as there are tons of threads about this.

The FBI wrote and published a paper while investigating PF. Although the paper misstates the species grown, they were able to grow PF shrooms on cakes. They analyzed the 'magic' in both the mycelium from the cakes and the mushrooms. The mushrooms had magic, the cakes did not.
This is only a single source, and science demands independent verification. I tend to believe that the cakes might have a bit of magic in them, but not enough to get a decent trip. I have not tried them myself, so that is a pure guess based on reports from other people.

I searched on this same subject quite a bit a while ago. It seems that for every post saying you can do it, there is another saying you can't. Someday maybe I'll try it and see if it works...

I'm not sure about how you'd go about taking advantage of psilocybin in the mycelium, but I can tell you one thing: if the cakes briuse blue, psilocybin is present. The bluing reaction that occurs is a result of psilocybin oxidizing when it comes in contact with oxygen(hence oxidation).

Again, I have not seen any proof (in the form of published research) that bluing is caused by oxidation of psilocybin. Why does synthetic psilocybin not turn blue when exposed to oxygen? Are there any mushroom species that bruise blue that do not contain psilocybin? Where is mushroom john when we need him?!?!
