Technically, no. In a strict sense, classical music is the genre of music that was mostly created around 1800, bu composers such as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. But colloquially, the term 'classical' is often applied to more or less any genre of western music created before, say, 1900 or so. Although many 'classical' pieces have been composed since then, e.g. by composers such as Bartók and Britten. Or Sibelius, whose violin concerto is one of my favorites, especially as performed by Maxim Vengerov, whose agile yet powerful playing style is in my mind the ideal medium for this composition:
