they were growing near that wood stump. i remember them growing there last year too. squeezing them causes all this black or dark purple stuff to stain your fingers. there mostly 2-3.5in tall.

they dont look like pan subbs, not in appearance or in texture, also the habitat is about 180 degrees diferent and you wil sinply not find an ubundantly fruiting, wood-loving spring psilocybe in north america west of the rockies.

Those look like Coprinus micaceus, a common edible mushroom.
There is something I can't see in the photo which you need to verify before you eat any, to make sure you don't eat a poisonous similar species. Look closely on the cap (use a magnifier if you can) and you should see some tiny mica-like particles. If you can't find any then you can't verify the ID all the way and you should avoid eating them.
BTW - they're only edible if you get them while the gills are still white. Once they start to change color they become nasty and inedible.
Happy mushrooming!

I'm not saying they're poison if not white. I'm saying they're too vile to eat for anybody I know. I don't know of anybody who'd eat them once they turn.
Here's a photo of some showing the particles. In the photo they look like white specks. In person they should look sort of like tiny pieces of silvery glitter.
Happy mushrooming!

i am having a little trouble understanding exactly what you are saying but as TM said, they look to be C. micaceus, an edible species, and the presence of "mica like" particles/granules on the cap surface would help confirm that.

Yeah, your smart...
Okay, well you're fucking lucky because they are considered "edible"... basically they wont kill you... But, once agian, you're LUCKY.
I wouldn't recommend drinking any alcohol for at least a week.
