    #1536936 - 05/10/03 02:22 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

hey, newbie here this is my first post

i live in eastern wisconsin, and it rained here for a few days this week and its been dry for a couple days so i went shrrom hunting. i went to a rotting log and found some shrooms that look just like azurescens, but I'm not sure if they are, and i don't have any way to take pics or scan it. they have a white stem, white cap with brown on the top, and dark brown gills. can anyone give me any description, i looked at the pics on this site, but I'm still not sure what mine are...

Good to be out looking, you should hang around and read posts and faqs on this here shroomery forum, you should also invest in a good mushroom and psilocybian mushroom field guide if your really serious. If you read some stuff you will realize the sheer absurdity of asking if you could have found Ps azurescen in wisconsin, even if it happens to be eastern wisconsin. =) Thanks man

not to mention season...

my advice is to get familiar with the species in your area. look for those, like the saying goes "Don't look for zeebras."

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

my only serious hunting endavor while up in northern wisconson last summer was some choice specimins of Amanita Muscaria...

my only advice.. maybe make your own azure bed in somewhere local - neighbors yard? a city park.. the ruff of a golf course.. least it makes your hunting a bit more fruitful and your chances all the better...
