Wondering if light intensity, spectrum, or amount can affect the growing of shrooms...ie. increase stem length like plants do when insufficiant light is recieved....Larger caps..? anything Please

Cubes use light to pin and they will also grow to the light but most likly wont effect size or potency or anything like that. Batman uses a Plant light and it works very well to pin casings.

It's interesting. AFOAFOAF has a terrarium that is wrapped with light reflecting material, and all his shrooms, even the lipa yai's, grew straight up (so far). Of course, I mean the legal edible medicinal shrooms, the only ones he'd ever think to grow :0

Pinning needs light to react and it needs a certain type of lighting. You will need a blue spectrum lighting system for best result. Most lights have a blue spectrum, but if you buy the 6500k lights(ultra daylight) you will see more pinning action. My friend has used both compact floresent and the 6500k lights and it is a noticeable difference. It's kind of like growing plants in the fact that a metal halide bulb works best for the veg. stage, but you can use a HPS.
