Removing aborts with fresh pins attached to the base

Swim has a mutant abort (3 of the same mushrooms sharing one cap) The cap is starting to turn dark This is the first flush there are fresh pins attached to the base of this abort is there any way I can safely remove this abort without sacrificing the other mature pins attached to the base? should i just leave the mutant abort attached to the cake until the mature base pins are fully grown? Someone told me to use floss and wrap around the base of the abort with a loop and pull it kind of like some sort of ghetto circumcision
Any advice?
thanks in advance.

Don't pick the abort until the others mature. It won't rot that fast

I'm pretty sure they don't rot I think they just dissolve back into mycelium? I could be wrong though. Either way thank you guys for the quick answers

Always leave aborts until you pick the rest of the fruits. The disinformation that they rot and will ruin the rest is totally inaccurate. RR

RR correct me if I'm wrong but aren't aborts just as potent so why no leave them attached to the larger fruits that are maturing.

Isn't that exactly what I posted above? RR

Occasionally they do but Its the small ones that get absorbed. This one sounds too big. It shouldnt take too long for the others to mature. It will be ok just watch out for rot. And if it does start to rot you will just lose that abort. The string idea sounds good too but the place where you cut it at will probably rot much faster than the abort itself. I hope this helps

You could always try replantation on the little ones and cut that abort out now. A lot of people seem to have reported success with it.

They don't rot. They may get slimy and break down, but not before the end of the flush.
Besides, bacteria isn't a contaminant during the fruiting stage like molds are. RR

so.. rot/rät/ Verb: Decompose by the action of bacteria and fungi; decay. Noun: The process of decaying. Synonyms: verb. decay - putrefy - decompose - moulder - molder - corrupt noun. decay - putrefaction - nonsense scource google
so by definition thry rot but in the real sense if the fungus is re absorbing them as nutes good, if they just deteriote meh and no bacteria are involved
