Always leave aborts until you pick the rest of the fruits.  The disinformation that they rot and will ruin the rest is totally inaccurate.

They don't rot.  They may get slimy and break down, but not before the end of the flush.

Besides, bacteria isn't a contaminant during the fruiting stage like molds are.
