Who do you work for when you do that? I am interested in doing something like that.

I have been wanting to do wwoof for several years but I am also keeping my eyes open for other opportunities

Look for Conservation Corps online. www.corpsnetwork.org has a lot of them state by state. Depending on your work/life experience and age you will either want to apply as a corpsmember (general worker paid a "living Stipend" as you're technically a Volunteer.) or if you have lots of outdoors experience/outdoors work exp./leadership exp. you could try applying to be a Crewleader or Assistant Crewleader.

Make sure you read the description well so you know what you're in for with each specific Corps. Some have more structure and emphasis on character and skill development, some are pretty much all balls-to-the-wall Hard General Labor. You're usually living and working in a Camp/crew setting which means in a weird way your "always" at work, which inherantly means structure. Some people can't take it, so like I said understand what your average day will be before joining any.

FYI Its *usually relatively easy to get one of the corpsmember positions.
