Maybe sanity will prevail.The Link

I think another terror attack will occur before the next election, then it'll all be about patriot act 2.

I imagine they anticipate a struggle. The sooner they act, the more chances they have to try.
Write your reps and make your position known!
DON"T WAIT!

The whole damn thing is INSANE. Consider this: "As a result, the Senate voted 90 to 4 to approve a measure expanding the government's ability to use secret surveillance tools against terrorist suspects who are not thought to be members of known terrorist groups.
Under current law, federal officials must establish a link to a foreign terrorist group in order to secure or request a secret warrant. "
A deal was struck that ALLOWS a SECRET warrant for "terrorist suspects". These "suspects" don't have to tied to ANY KNOWN TERRORIST GROUPS.
I've read the PA& PAII. The definition of "terrorist" is so vague that those that grow shrooms CAN be considered terrorists.
Folks you should really read this stuff again. The heading masks the intent; just like the "Amber alert bill" masked the rider for stopping raves.

There is nothing so permanent as a 'temporary' government program. This is more of the usual beltway bullshit.
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Here's a website that lists contact information for congress. If you click your state, you'll get phone, fax, and e-mail. When I clicked one of my reps' names, I got a mailing address as well.
Contacting the Congress
What do you guys think--is an e-mail enough or does a hard copy speak louder?

I agree wholeheartedly. This is just more Orwellian bullshit. A kinder, gentler Patriot Act. Nothing to be alarmed about folks, we're only targeting terrorists. And WTO protestors.
